Privacy Policy
This policy describes the hosted Acid Studio Lab website (acid-studio.net), not the standalone macOS application. Updated 6 September 2026. For the Mac application, use the dedicated privacy and support pages below.
Acid Studio Lab is designed to be local-first: your creations, sketches, parameters and settings are primarily stored on your own device and are not transmitted unless you explicitly sign in and use a feature that requires server storage.
Hosting: the website is operated through Floot and its infrastructure providers (including OVH for content delivery). Visiting these web pages involves network connections, independently of the Mac application's local operation.
1. Data controller
Publisher and data controller: Les éditions volumiques. Creation and support: Étienne Mineur — contact@etienne.design. For any question about this policy or your personal data, mention “Acid Studio Lab” in your message.
2. What we collect
- Account data (optional): email address and a hashed password, used only to access the studio when you create an account. Display name if you provide one.
- Workspace data: sketches, presets, parameters, saved animations and settings are stored locally in your browser (localStorage / IndexedDB) or on your device, and are not uploaded unless you explicitly use a save or upload feature.
- Imported media: images, videos and audio you import are processed on your device (GPU, audio engine) and are not transmitted to our servers.
3. Camera and microphone
Sketches that use a camera or microphone request your permission and process live inputs locally. A voluntary image or video export can retain visible camera content or audio-driven effects; included audio depends on the export mode. Review exports before sharing them. Stop the input or revoke the browser's permission to end live access.
4. Local-first workspace
The web workspace uses your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB. Clearing this site's storage in the browser removes that browser's local data, not server-side content, exported files or backups. A library Delete command is not a global storage reset.
5. macOS application
The standalone Mac application requires no account. Its dedicated policy explains local storage, camera and microphone exports, installed fonts, external links and HTML exports, and the actual limits of data deletion. Web account and hosting provisions on this page do not describe the Mac application's local workspace.
6. Fonts and third-party resources
Typography sketches use embedded fonts first, then web fonts served by a third-party font CDN. A request to that CDN is a standard web request and may expose your IP address to the CDN provider. When a web font cannot be loaded, the sketch falls back to a system font.
8. Data retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and can be deleted through the application controls or on request. Local data stays on your device until you clear it. Server-side saved content can be deleted with the corresponding controls in the application.
9. Your rights
You may request access to, rectification of, deletion of, or portability of your personal data, and may object to or restrict processing, by contacting us through the support page below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) or your local supervisory authority.
10. Security
Communications are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and the service collects only the minimal data required to operate. No personal data is sold or shared for advertising purposes.
11. Children
Acid Studio Lab is not directed to children. In France, the service is not intended for persons under 15 years of age.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the service evolves. The date at the top of the page indicates the latest version.
